Mistakenly reported as deceased on a credit report

Hey everyone, need your advice.

I was checking my credit report because I was thinking of applying for a car loan. To my absolute shock, I found out that I've been marked as deceased on my credit report! No idea how or why this happened. Loans denied, credit cards canceled, and even my landlord got spooked when they checked my credit.

Now, I'm scratching my head, wondering what to do. I've heard horror stories about trying to fix mistakes on credit reports. I know that it is time to sue when mistakenly reported as deceased on a credit report, and I guess it is really my only option. Has anyone else been through this bizarre situation?

The credit bureau keep saying they'll investigate, but who knows how long that'll take. Meanwhile, my financial life is in shambles. So, should I lawyer up and take legal action? Or is there a simpler way to resurrect my credit score?
